AES LiFePO4 Batteries certified UL 9540 for Solar Energy Storage Systems
Vancouver, BC, May 1, 2021 – Discover Battery (Richmond, BC) and Schneider Electric (Burnaby, BC) are pleased to announce the UL 9540 safety certification of Discover Battery’s Advanced Energy System (AES) LiFePO4 lithium battery and Schneider Electric’s XW Pro hybrid inverter. UL9540 certification simplifies the design and installation approval process for residential solar off-grid and whole-home backup energy storage systems to 20kWh.
Discover AES LiFePO4 lithium batteries feature a proprietary high current Battery Management System (BMS) with closed-loop communication and easily integrate with the XW Pro hybrid inverter. The battery’s internal BMS automatically sets and dynamically manages the XW Pro’s charge and discharge configuration, improving recharge time by up to 25% when compared with open-loop control. UL9540 approved designs with the XW Pro for both the AES LiFePO4 7.4kWh and 3.0kWh battery models provide installers with design flexibility and paralleling options to the 20kWh limit for a residential ESS.
